Book Giveaway for Grandma’s Library

Only where children gather
is there any real chance of fun.

-MignonMcLaughlin

Yesterday, during my final trip to Border’s (sigh), I found two picture books I wanted to share with our grandkids.  I picked up an extra copy of each to share with you.

The Cuddliest Cuddle in the World, celebrates the special relationship of parents and children. If Big can I Can, is a sweet story of a brown bear and a koala enjoying running, jumping and all sorts of play.  Both books speak to the world of small children.

So, if you would like to be entered in our Grandma Book Giveaway drawing to receive both of these books,  please leave a comment below.

Maybe you  would like to suggest a favorite book from your chldhood, or share a favorite game you play with the kids. Please do.  This is our chance to get to know one another better and learn from each other’s lives.  Or, just say hello!

The drawing will be held August 22, 2011.

Stumbled upon your blog from Twitter. These two books look adorable! I’ll be sharing your site with my mother, who is a new grandma!

  2. Judy says:

And I am Michelle’s mother, the grandmother of 15 months old twin girls. I’ll be looking forward to reading and investigating your website. I’m a “long distance” grandma, so it’s difficult being there for my daughter and granddaughters.

Thanks for the opportunity to get some great books to share with the girls.

Judy, oh so many grandmas are long distance grandmas. I am so blessed that our kids are each less than 30 minutes away. in September we will be doing some articles for long distance grandmas. One of the best things I know of is READEO, but your little twins are a bit too youn for it yet. It is an online reading program that is great. You would eventually be able to read them bedtime stories.
You are entered in our drawing for the Grandma books. Thank you so much for connecting with us and I pray that we will be able to support one another in the coming days.

I am a grandma by proxy to several children ( I help take care of them and they call me Grandma.)I enjoy being part of their lives and get the same kind of things to read that I think all children of their age would like to hear.
Both books sound like GREAT sharing material!

    • Kay says:

Janelle, you are a wonderful grandma by proxy! I will enter your name in our book giveaway! Thanks for the comment.

These books look adorable! My kids LOVE books, but I think their favorite is a book we don’t own – Sheep in a Jeep. My parents have the copy that they read to my brother and I when we were little, and now they read it to my kids over Skype at least once a week.

    • Jenny, that is so great of your parents to take that time time your kids. I took a peek at your site–and your kids are just adorable! I imagine grandma and grandpa are very proud of them. Thanks for leaving a comment!

A book I have loved since I was a little girl is “Arthur’s Honey Bear” by Lillian Hoban. It is a sweet book to read aloud with a little one.

Hi Kay, We just met through Twitter and I just found out about your adorable giveaway. My granddaughters would love these books and I am going to be babysitting for another little one soon that loves to be read to, so these would be great. I am trying to build a new children’s library again since my kids are in their twenties now and all of their books have been long gone.

    Have a wonderful evening!
