More Fun Ideas for Painting With Kids

Posted on: August 31st, 2011 by Kay Swatkowski

Our little Samantha loves to paint.  Her mom always has finger paint on the arts and crafts shelf.  But, finding a way to allow Sam to be creative while limiting the mess is a challenge.  Here are two things that might make clean up easier.

1.  I love the Elmer paint pens.  These paint pens are the size of fat crayons and have a small brush on the end.  It is a great way to control the amount of paint and also encourages fine motor skills.  I will always have some of these on hand.

2.  Just tonight I found this idea for paint soaked sponges on pinterest.  Be sure to visit the original site www.baballa.com to see step by step pictures on how to soak the sponge.  The instructions are in Spanish.

Painting is such a great activity. It is different than crayons or markers. The texture and thickness of the paint allows children to create vivid pictures and the ability to mix colors is fascinating. Any more ideas on how to use paint?
