Thanksgiving Books for Children

When our oldest grandchildren were little, they loved the Thanksgiving books we had in our home.  Before our youngest ones get much older, we will need to replace these beautiful books

  • The Thanksgiving Story by Alice Dalgliesh was first published in 1954. It is the straightforward account of the first Thanksgiving.  I believe this book received a Caldecott Award.  Great addition to your library.
  • If You Were at the First Thanksgiving by Anna Kamma gives more detail about ife in Colonial America. Children will enjoy the facts.
  • Thanks for Thanksgiving by Julie Markes, is perfect for younger children.  This book beautifully illustrates all that children can be thankful for.
