Million Dollar Chicken

This recipe is a family favorite for the Good family of Illinois.  I made it last night and we are eating the leftovers tonight. It is so yummy–great flavor and so simple to make.

When the kids and grandkids come  home for a visit, this meal is often requested and Nana is glad to oblige.

This recipe was contributed by my dear friend Nancy. We  have been friends for 7 years and it has been a delight to watch as each new grandchild has been welcomed into this loving  family.

Nancy and her husband, Tom,  have four beautiful grandchildren and often remark on what a blessing they are.

Next time you want to serve a family meal , you might want to try Nancy’s  delicious recipe:

Million Dollar Chicken
4 boneless skinless chicken breast (place in 9×13 pan)
Sprinkle salt, pepper, and paprika to taste
Combine:
Melt 1 stick butter in sauce pan (can use a good margarine)
1/2 teaspoon rosemary
1/2 teaspoon basil
1 can cream mushroom soup
1 small bag slivered almonds (substitute 1 can sliced water chestnuts -drained- and cut in strips)
1 carton fresh mushrooms
juice of 1/2 lemon (1-1/2 Tablespoon Real Lemon)
1 small diced onion
Directions:
Saute sliced fresh mushrooms in butter with onion and seasonings and lemon juice.

Add mushroom soup, and 1/2 can water, and almonds.
Pour over chicken
Baked uncovered 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
Serve over rice.
Enjoy!
You can double the recipe but only use 1-1/2 sticks of butter.
