Heavenly Father,
Thank you for these new grandchildren who have become part of our family.
Help us to welcome them with open hearts and open arms.
Help us to be patient as this new relationship slowly develops.
May each one experience your love and care through the kind words and actions of our family.
Guide us in moments of uncertainty and conflict.
Enlarge our hearts and grow our faith through these new relationships.
May we always keep our eyes on Jesus, our Savior who invited, welcomed and blessed little children.
And may we invite, welcome and bless these step-grandchildren with the same love and compassion that you have shown to us.
In Jesus Name
Amen
Dear Friends,
I do not have step-grandchildren, but have met many women who do. Two of our grandchildren are step-grandchildren and I know the relationship with their step-grandparents is very important to them. I am sure those of you who are in this situation know what it means to pray for these new family members. This prayer is my wish for you as you adjust or grow in this relationship. Thank you for embracing these children as your own. May your relationship with them be tender and sweet.
