Book Review – As Grandpa Says by Nick Harrison

Posted on: February 27th, 2012 by Kay Swatkowski

This little book, published by Harvest House, is filled with inspiring thoughts and stories.  While it directs wisdom and inspiration at  grandparents, I believe it can be used as a way to start conversation with older grandchildren.  I loved the story of the Transcontinental Railroad and Grandpa’s reflections on the perseverance and tenacity of the men who laid those rails.  What a great insight to pass on to grandchildren.

Maybe you have some wisdom of your own to pass on to your grandchildren.  Nick Harrison’s book might give you ideas for sharing your own values, beliefs, hopes and dreams with those important family members.

I hope you will check out my  book on prayer for grandparents.  It uses life stories, Scripture and suggested prayers to guide loving grandparents into a more meaningful prayer time for their children and grandchildren.

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson
